Please join your district’s advisor group on the Signal Messaging App. Each district has its own page where the state office can connect with advisors. First, download the app, then request to join the D1 Advisors, a Signal admin will approve your request.

Membership questions? Joining, logging in, “M” invoices or payments please email the national office Customer Care or call 844-875-4557.

Invoices that start with “S” issues or payment questions please email the state office.

Voting Delegates: At District Contest and State Conference, delegates vote for officers and any proposed amendments. Advisors choose which students should serve as delegates. Delegates Per Chapter:

  • one delegate for the Texas chapter
  • one delegate for each group of 10 members
  • one delegate for major fraction of 10 members (more than 5)
  • i.e. 16 members = 3 voting delegates; 15 members = 2 voting delegates.

2024 Fall Leadership

Save the Date: Friday Nov 1st, Western Tech will be our host. $35/pp includes lunch and training materials. Advisors must register with their students.

Registration will open Aug 15th and close on Oct 18th. No late registration. No Refunds after Oct 20th. There is no on site registration. An invoice is the only confirmation that you are fully registered, an estimate of fees is not a complete registration. Payments are due Nov 20th. Advisors must register with their students. Students must have a contestant badge to compete. Job exhibit notebooks must have a registration label to be judged.

Online Testing

Online PD/Skills Testing window is Jan 21, 8am-Jan 26, 7pm. PD test study guide. If entered in multiple contests they will only take the test once per contestant number.  Please register your students with a personal, not a school email address.

Each registered competitor will receive an email on Jan 21st. This email will contain the link for PD Test completion and if there is a skills test assessment for the contest there will be a link for that as well. The deadline for all of these will be January 26th at 7pm. Any test taken outside of this testing window will not be taken into account and will be disregarded.

All contests that require a resume: Resumes must be delivered to judges in person to avoid the 10-point penalty.

Competition Regulations

All Texas Chapters abide by the regulations as outlined in the Texas Regulations. This document outlines registration limits, state, and nationals advancements, Texas Only contests, and more. Please refer to the Texas Regulations for detailed information. Always prepare your students by reading the newest edition of contest guidelines. 

National Technical Standards

National contests are listed in the national technical standards a free download with your paid professional membership.

Log on to www.skillsusa-register.org, and you should see a technical standards icon at the bottom of the page after you log in. If you click on that icon you will be directed to: https://mycareeressentials.org. (this platform is called Absorb) Advisors will need to create an account on Absorb to access the Technical Standards. If you need help setting up that account, please contact SkillsUSA’s customer care team at 844-875-4557 for assistance.
