SkillsUSA offers advanced training for students and advisors that focuses on professionalism, communication and leadership skills. This training is held in Washington, D.C., and allows members the opportunity to share their SkillsUSA and career and technical experiences with elected officials. WLTI activities will include:

  • Congressional visits
  • Tours of Washington D.C., including monuments
  • Laying of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns

2024 Washington Leadership Training Institute Conference Information

To register for the Washington Leadership Training Institute (WLTI), please go to: https://www.skillsusa-register.org/

Registration opens Aug 1st and closes Aug 21st. No refunds or cancellations after Aug 21st. Payments are due Sept 21st. Please add a 3% processing fee for credit card transactions.

Attendees must complete all Pre-Conference training and Statesman materials by Sept 21st. (2024 training material details are found in the guide link above) You must have an account that matches the email used in your WLTI registration. You must be registered for WLTI for this course to be added to your account in Absorb, this access will be available after Aug 31st.  

2024 WLTI Scholarship Applications open Aug 1st and are due Aug 15th.  $500 Scholarship – To support expenses for the Washington Leadership Training Institute (held in Washington D.C. in September each year.) This amount covers registration for the 2024 WLTI training. Transportation to and from D.C., lodging at the conference hotel, and any meals not included with registration are the responsibility of the student/school.

Make sure you are adding your rooming options under Optional Fees in registration. Choose roommates if known. If you are doing Texas Tours please add TX Tours and 6 Nt Lodging choice.

Scholarship applications and State officers will need invoice modifications – please be sure the adjusted invoice is sent to your accounting department.
