District Grievances
When handling a concern pertaining to SkillsUSA Texas Championships, all persons must remain polite, respectful, and professional at all times. The first step is for the advisor to discuss the matter with the Technical Chair of the competition. If the matter is not discussed politely, respectfully, and professionally, the person will be asked to leave the competition site.
If the concern is not reconciled with technical chair of the career competition, grievance should be filed by the advisor. Grievances must be filed 2 hour after the completion of the contest.
A grievance committee of at least two people will be established by the SkillsUSA Texas Executive Director to rule on grievances prior to, during, and immediately following the SkillsUSA Texas District Events.
This committee will receive documentation, based only on upon specific violations of rules, regulations, or apparent errors in scores.
You must cite the exact page number of the SkillsUSA Texas Only Regulations or Technical Standards allegedly violated.
The committee will then gather documentation to make their decisions and submit a response to the advisor who filed the grievance.
The decisions of the grievance committee are FINAL.
Job Exhibits: Grievances may be reviewed by a specified deadline. Reasons that will be considered for grievances for job exhibit notebooks are for Mathematical error and/or Job Exhibit not judged ONLY.
