Texas Alumni

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, educators, and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA Texas continues that mission by creating opportunities for members to grow into successful employees, leaders, and engaged citizens through leadership development, technical skill-building, and strong partnerships.

That mission doesn’t end at graduation.

SkillsUSA Texas alumni play a vital role in supporting the next generation of student leaders by sharing experience, modeling professionalism, and strengthening the bridge between education and industry.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA Texas’ mission is to provide opportunities for its members to become successful and productive citizens, employees and leaders accomplished through a structured program of leadership training activities, communication and business partnerships. Vocational-technical education, the School-to-Career initiative, Career and Technical Education and many other movements in education and training reform have searched for an elusive but key bridge: how to have an active partnership between public education and industry.

Ways to Stay Involved as an Alumni

There are many ways for alumni to stay connected and contribute, based on interest, availability, and location.

Leadership & Training Support

  • Serve as a Conference Facilitator at events such as Summer Leadership Conferences, Fall Leadership Conferences, officer trainings, district events, or chapter workshops
  • Support student learning through small-group facilitation, activities, and engagement (in-person or virtual)
 

Event & Program Support

  • Assist at district-level events, contests, or conferences
  • Support State Leadership and Skills Conferences
  • Participate in special events such as Legislative Day
 

Professional Connection

  • Connect with fellow SkillsUSA alumni and professionals
  • Share industry insight and real-world experience with students
  • Stay engaged with SkillsUSA Texas initiatives and opportunities

Support the Next Generation of SkillsUSA Leaders
SkillsUSA Texas is inviting SkillsUSA alumni to apply to serve as Conference Facilitators. Conference Facilitators help create engaging, inclusive leadership experiences for students by supporting small-group discussions, activities, and event programming across the year.
Opportunities may include Summer Leadership Conferences, Fall Leadership Conferences, officer trainings, district events, and virtual facilitation. This application expresses interest in supporting upcoming events based on program needs and availability.

Volunteer

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit youth association that works in partnership with students, teachers, and industry to ensure that America maintains a skilled workforce and that forwards student’s individual goals, and to help them grow into responsible American citizens. Every year, the students in SkillsUSA participate in multiple diverse competitions that focus on enhancing trade and industry education. Through their involvement in SkillsUSA, students develop essential skills, such as communication and teamwork, as well as a competitive edge in the work force.

Each year, SkillsUSA Texas hosts several events that motivates young professionals and teaches them citizenship, leadership skills, positive attitudes, community service, and pride in workmanship, resulting in the production of quality-trained, well-rounded, entry-level employees. This is where we need you! 

Ready to Get Involved?

There is no prior experience required to be a volunteer for SkillsUSA except for a desire to support and interact with our future workforce. Volunteers can help by judging job exhibits, competitions, or working supporting roles at various events.

If you are interested in volunteering for a SkillsUSA event, for a few hours or more, please reach out to info@skillsusatx.org. We can match your availability, expertise, and interests with our event needs. We would love to have you join in our efforts to support more “Champions at Work”.
